Blood Lust I: The Calling
The pitch darkness beckoned to him, urging him to just stay lying in the bed, next to the warm body wound up around his own. He didn’t have much recollection on how he’d gotten there, or who she even was, but then, did it really matter either way? His hunger was coming back, one that he was all too familiar with, but it was one that he also couldn’t quite grow accustomed too. He had an insatiable blood lust, and viewing the visage lying curled up beside him in that moment, he could think of nothing more than snapping her neck.
He shook himself, trying to think of the love making that they must have shared. While glimpses of it appeared in his shadowed mind, he still favored the idea of killing her so much more. In fact, it was the thought of ramming his growing hardness into her, while at the same time, slowly draining the life from her which seemed more than pleasant to him. He knew that it made him a monster, at least to most it would, but he was at a crossroads.
He couldn’t remember human emotion very well, other than carnal lust itself. He had a vague recollection of imprinting, or needing to imprint before he lost all semblance of humanity, but as yet he hadn’t. He’d also gotten over the pain of shifting, and in fact could do so of his own free will, not just by the power of the moon any longer. It was strange, because he developed the strangest cravings right before he did shift from his human form. The blood lust he had always overpowered him. As yet, he hadn’t been caught and there was no way that anyone had any idea of what he really was. At least he didn’t think so. He made it a point to blend it well with the other humans, living a very ordinary life.
He knew there was a beast lying inside of him, sometimes silent, but for the most part, always wide awake, lurking, drooling over the chance to feed. He felt his teeth retract, his fangs now ominously visible. Her pulse was slow and steady in the side of her neck, and the smell of her drew him closer. He sucked at her, enjoying feeling her body move against him, but enjoying more the feel of her fresh, beating heart.
Placing his hand on her breast, he did find some arousal when her nipple grew hard under his touch, but he was even more fired up with other thoughts, ones he couldn’t will away. Couldn’t, or simply didn’t want to… He didn’t know, all he knew was that he had to get her out of there, away from him before he made just another fatal mistake. It wouldn’t be the first time.
He was so very tired of being alone, of having no one to share eternity with. That is exactly what I have to look forward to as well. He rolled to his back, staring up at the blank, emotionless ceiling for what felt like forever in itself. Sighing, he thought again. Yes, eternity is definitely what he had to look forward to. Every time he looked in the mirror, with each year that passed, he saw he wasn’t aging. Others that he’d cared about had died years before, and those that remained he had drifted away from, too afraid of what would happen if they found out what he was, or how he had come to be that way.
He lived a life of deathly secrets, circling around him like buzzards day after day, month after month, and of course, every year. Nothing changed, nor did he will it too. Still, he couldn’t help but wish for something good to chance his way, at least for once, since he’d been turned. He sometimes wondered if it would have been better to have become one of the walking dead. That is what his kind termed ‘vampires’. His life was more shadowed than theirs, though he had the same strength and the ability to snap their neck easily if he got a hold of one of them. Yes, wolves and vampires, they didn’t mix to well together. Still…
There was one of them that drew him. He’d only saw her a few times, off in the distance, but they’d made eye contact. He knew she was drawn to him as much as he was to her. He’d heard rumors that she was balking her kind too, becoming amicable with the wolf community, something that was definitely forbidden and off limits for vampires, just as it was with the wolves. Many believed that kind of breeding would only create some kind of monstrosity, but then it had never happened so no one could say for sure. In the meantime, he spent his days reveling in sex. That is when he wasn’t pretending to work a day and night job, much like a normal, ordinary human would.
There were times where he hated himself for viewing the humans the way that he did because at one point in time he had been human himself. He had shadowy images that would come to him in dreams, back before he had been changed. He remembered that in the beginning he’d just wanted to die. He’d never planned on living forever, but now…Well, he didn’t really have a choice any longer. His path was difficult, but he knew there was some form of happiness awaiting him somewhere. He wanted to snatch it and enjoy it. His only wish was that he could somehow find it sooner than how it was gradually happening.
He’d killed plenty, and he could still taste the blood in his mouth, or he imagined he could. He battled it every day, every waking moment as a matter of fact. It was his other half, his dark half, co-existing with him. He did enjoy the prowess it gave him, especially when it came to getting any female he wanted.
Still, his mind drifted back to her…she was the only one that he had ever felt true emotion for, even if only for a second. He wondered if he would see her that night. She did visit the bar sometimes, but always with her vampire friends. It was the strangest thing. She was living among them but he could see she just didn’t really want to be there, even though he’d never even spoken to her. Oh, well. He ran his hand over his face, trying to block his own thoughts of her.
Turning his gaze back to the woman lying nude in the bed with him, he tried desperately to remember her name, but there’d been so many in the past few months, it was more difficult than he thought it would be. He couldn’t imagine what she would think if she awoke; only to find he didn’t even know who she was.
He decided to fend alcoholic incompetence if she did. At least then he’d be able to spare her from some of the humiliation. He held his breath involuntarily as he continued to stare at her sleeping, her breathe falling up and down in her chest. Finally, he decided to get up, once there was some recognition there. It was slowly coming back to him. Sally or Sarah he thought her name was. He wasn’t sure. Sitting on the side of the bed, he contemplated falling right back into it too…so tired he still was. His mind just couldn’t help but continue to wander.
Sam had been with so many women, for such an extensive period of time, he found their names just ran into each other. Their faces were also beginning to blur together, having slept with so many of them. Some he had drained, actually disemboweling some in the throes of ecstasy, though just a reflex he hadn’t been able to control in those past times. Still, it haunted him to a point.
His servants had discarded the bodies he’d mutilated, and then others…he knew for a fact that some of them he had accidentally turned, but they’d disappeared long ago, discovering their new identities on their own terms without interference. He could have hunted them down had he wanted to have, but he’d decided to let them go, living alone like he did. He simply was not the teacher that any new fledgling werewolf needed, at least he didn’t view himself as a good teacher.
With the constant buzzing of his alarm clock, he took it as his cue. No more lying around leisurely, or dwelling on his circumstances. It did him no good anyway. He had two night jobs to keep with the look of things. It was his goal to feign interest in human interactions, just to try and stay looking as ordinary as possible. He knew in that way, anytime some report popped up about a female gone missing, there was no suspicion on him. There was no reason to be anyway, but he felt it was best to say out of the limelight no matter what. He tried to keep a low presence too, not letting too many people come to know him. In his mind, it was all for the best.
Damn… He reached for the alarm clock, but
his hand missed it. He caught himself before falling flat on his face on his way out of the bed. His alarm clock wasn’t going to give it up and the loud and incessant beep, beep, beep was beginning to give him the early symptoms of a headache, or perhaps that was from the liquor consumption the day before. Hell, he didn’t know, and didn’t really care. The only thing he did know was that he had to drag his ass out of the bed to go in to his most dreaded night position at the local ShopCo. While he was lucky to have the manager slot, it just didn’t fit his character to be working in such a place.
Smacking the off button on the alarm clock, he kicked the covers back and threw his legs across the side of the bed, stirring the woman next to him awake. What the hell…He’d forgotten about her again. It was bad, he knew that. His short term memory never stayed with him for too long. Sometimes he saw it as a blessing, others, a curse. He smacked her ass as he finally did get up, causing her to startle. That image of her round, juicy bottom jiggling reminded him of her riding him just a few hours previously. He laughed at that memory. Finally, something comes back Sam…Now that is an image a man simply can’t forget, ever.
He smiled to himself as he glanced at her body. She did have the perfect shape, the kind every other woman would beg to have. Still, she really wasn’t his type at all. He pushed at her, rousing her more, until finally she opened one eye, peeking at him from under the covers. They were bright green and her hair was a deep, lush red. Freckles spread out from across the bridge of her nose to each side of her cheeks. He did find it rather cute. He tickled her side, whistling as one would to a horse as he urged her to get up and get ready to leave. He never allowed women to stay at his place when he wasn’t going to be there. It was simply something of a trust issue he had. He did enjoy his privacy.
“Come on babe, you got to get up because I have to get out of here and get in to work.” She moaned softly, a sound that insinuated her discontent at his poking and prodding. Though it was irritating to him that she seemed to want to ignore his continued pleas of getting dressed and leaving, he didn’t show it. He had a kind heart, one that just didn’t have an ill bone anywhere near it. Not from his feigning of human compassion anyway. Still, he was good, deep down inside.
He knew it was one of the very reasons so many people tried to take advantage of him. Still, he saw no reason to change his good nature because of the bad will of others. He stood, stretching his long, lean frame at the bedroom window. Pulling the curtain aside for a moment, he was greeted with a dreary night sky. It had been drizzling for a while out in that pitch darkness, but as he opened the window to let a breeze in, he could smell the rain in the air. He turned back to the woman in the bed.
“Babe, come on now. It is going to storm anytime and you don’t want to be caught out in that, right? Hurry up and get dressed, I have to get ready to go.”
This time she seemed to get the point, and as she swung her own legs over the side of the bed, letting the sheets fall about her waist, her breasts perked up to greet his tired eyes. Just seeing her taut nipples and slim frame sent his manhood rising. Of course, it wasn’t anything that was hard to do for him anyway. He became hard at the site of any attractive woman. For a moment he thought of throwing her back down on the bed and giving her a good fuck one last time, but glancing at the clock, he knew it would push him late for work. Sighing heavily, he ran his hand through his blonde locks and entered the bathroom, turning the water on and tossing it over his face, hoping the coldness would snap him out of his grogginess.
As he came back out, he noticed she had curled right back up into a small ball in the bed, the sheet thrown haphazardly across her naked body. He ignored her for the moment, going directly into the kitchen to start a pot of coffee. He figured they both could use it, and he had the time. His cat was sleeping over in the corner, in the fluffy little cat bed he had bought him a month earlier. His name was Fred, and upon his arrival in the kitchen and rustling about, the cat jumped up on the table, eager to be fed his own dinner.
He opened one of Fred’s favorite flavors of cat food, and tapping the bowl, he came running, digging in as if he hadn’t eaten in days. Standing back up, he glanced at the bills piled on the corner of the table, all of which demanded his attention. He sorted through them; trying to determine which ones he could pay at the moment and which ones would have to wait. It was like this for him every single month. He simply couldn’t scrape together enough money to get by and stay on top of every single bill all the time, so he prioritized the best he could. He might be some kind of beast, but he definitely wasn’t a thief by any means.
The coffee was done and the fresh brew filled the air. It was Dunkin Donuts new blend ‘Strawberry Shortcake,’ and the smell was indeed intoxicating. Pouring two steaming cups he moved back into the sleeping area of his studio apartment. The second cup he sat on the coaster by the bed, and his own he sat in the bathroom. He went back to wake the girl who was sleeping soundly once more.
“Come on, you have to wake up now, hurry up. I made some coffee, its right here.” She moaned, rolling to her side. When she did she reached out for him, pulling him back into the bed with her. The coffee was soon forgotten about as she twined her body about his, her nipples rubbing up against his chest, and her thighs closing tightly about one of his legs. His manliness was so hard; doing her was all he could think about. The time drifted away from him, everything seemed to fade away and grow distant, everything but her and him, their bodies grinding and floating together in blissful pleasures.
***************************
He arrived to work late, but not by much. Still, he had been warned about being tardy so many times, even if it were only five minutes. The ShopCo expected him to be more reliable, especially with his position being in management. The District Manager gave him a warning, but it was clear that he wasn’t going to tolerate his night shift manager being late any longer. It was either be on time or find another job. Sam knew how difficult that would be, with the economy being so despairing. So many people were out of work. He definitely didn’t want to become one of those in the unemployment line trying to survive week to week. That was a worse scenario than his current one, at least in his mind it was. Still, he knew he could survive better than what he was, not living the way he was too. But, he stayed in it, pretending day in and day out.
He was so tired of living such a hard life, but no one could say he wouldn’t at least work. Even he knew that about himself. Having been humbled all his life, ever since landing in an orphanage as just a small child, he’d always struggled to find a place to fit in. He’d grown tired of the beatings from some of his foster families, but he’d held his own, sucking it up and coping as best as a child could. He’d carried that same mentality over into his young adult life as well.
Standing at the register, ringing up the last customer coming through, his mind drifted back to that very dissatisfying childhood. Looking back now, he finally was coming to realize that all he had ever known were the crude orphanages and some of the horrid foster homes. He had good memories too, but the horrible ones stuck out more than any others. It gave him the chills just thinking about how hard it had been as a kid trying to grow up, trying to find his own little niche in society with other kids his age. Of course, those times were long gone and the days of being abused were far behind him. Now he had become right the opposite.
Some had balked at him, called him names, made horrible and had made fun of him. Still, one of the most precious things that he’d had then; and of which, he realized he had now was his ability to feign indifference. Through it all he had always been likable, despite the hard upbringing. His looks gave him a homerun to success, but as yet nothing had materialized for him; nothing but the ShopCo, and the bar he worked at as well, and his life changing moment a few years back. Yet, through all the hell he’d been put through, that he was still going through, he was thankful for what he had and what he was trying to achieve.
The women, well they were another story en
tirely. He supposed, somewhere deep inside of himself he had a view of women as something for him to just take advantage of. So many of them had treated him wrongly in his young years, so much so that he was to the point he really had very little respect for them. They were his toys, his adult blow up dolls for him to fuck anytime he damn well pleased; at least that is how he felt about it most days. All in all, females, for him, were something that simply took the edge off, kind of like an alcoholic with booze. He didn’t feel he was hurting anyone, but he knew he had to stop taking advantage, leading so many women on.
The next customer in line was an attractive blonde head with nice, ample breasts to go along with her face. He could almost imagine himself shoving his face between them, caressing the lovely mounds in between his hands while his mouth and tongue lavished them. He could almost taste her already. He felt himself rising and tried to stop it, thinking of the costs of her items instead.
“That’ll be $55.74 Miss.” She smiled at him as she pulled out her large billfold, counting out bills and then handing them to him. To him, she seemed to lean in just a bit closer, pulling her blouse tauter across her protruding breasts. He couldn’t help but notice, after all, he was a man, and he did have needs. When she spoke, her voice was like velvet flowing forth from her silky soft lips. They glistened under the florescent glow of the store lighting.
The shimmer caused him to lick his own lips, and he could stop imagining his mouth pressed against hers and his tongue entering her wet cavern of delight. He almost groaned standing in front of her. God, he needed something, someone to take the edge off. Fuck, I sound like some paranoid schizophrenic in need of my next prescription dosage. What the hell is wrong with me? He ran his hands through his hair and across the span of his shoulders, stretching back to ease the buildup of tension in his back, but he already knew it was going to take more than a languid stretch to get his rigid manhood to go back down in his pants.
